36" x 30" (91cm
x 76cm)- This one of a kind piece was sprayed on an old rusted piece
of metal I found at an abandoned mine between Boulder and Nederland,
Colorado. The metal is mounted on 1" agathis wood that was stained
and then splatter stained. I also banged up the wood a little to give
it a rustic look. |

| The Wolf Tongue Mining Company is an old mining building in Nederland, Colorado. Nederland is a small mining town and also the location of NOWhere Limited Gallery. I am the artist on schedule for the June08 show at NOWhere and wanted to create a piece that related to the town the show was in. Nederland was settled as a gold/silver mining town. However, the settlers soon realized that the gold/silver supplies in the area were not lucrative. Luckily they realized that there was a plentiful supply of tungsten to mine and the town survived. There are still a bunch of old mining buildings and mining equipment in the town of Nederland. The guy sitting on the ground is looking at the wall "Planning his Attack" on the building. Next to him are some stencils, spray cans and a ventilation mask. - Ian |
